What Is Expected Of The Co-Op Student?
There are specific requirements a co-op student must fulfill to graduate from the Engineering Co-op Program. The degree granted to graduating co-op students is designated "Cooperative Program".
The Engineering Co-op Student will be expected to:

Complete Engineering 299 including the Co-op agreement and personal information in PlacePro.

Complete the courses WKEXP 901, WKEXP 902, WKEXP 903, WKEXP 904 and WKEXP 905 (five 4-month work terms).

Maintain a level of academic performance as set out in the Academic Regulations of the Faculty as well as satisfactory performance in work terms.

Participate in co-op recruitments at the Engineering Co-op Department or secure a job through a personal job search. If you find a job on your own, notify the Co-op department to ensure it qualifies for the program. The ultimate responsibility for obtaining suitable employment during work terms rests with the student. The Department provides major assistance in identifying suitable employment and counseling students in their search for suitable jobs.

Prepare a current resume prior to each recruitment and obtain transcript.

Apply on jobs listed.

Attend all interviews granted.

Once you have an acceptable co-op job you must:

complete an interim onsite evaluation with your supervisor and a coordinator from the co-op office.

submit a work term report on a topic assigned by the co-op office.

ensure that your supervisor completes a final work term evaluation

Meet any deadlines set out by the co-op office.
